Your CTC (Cost to Company) is not what gets credited to your bank account. It includes your basic salary, HRA, special allowance, employer's PF contribution, and other components. What you actually take home each month is your gross salary minus statutory deductions like employee PF, professional tax, and TDS.
This calculator breaks down your CTC using the salary structure mandated by the Code on Wages, 2019 (effective November 2025), which requires basic salary to be at least 50% of total CTC. HRA is computed as 50% of basic for metro cities (Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai) and 40% for non-metro cities, in line with Section 10(13A) of the Income Tax Act.
TDS is estimated under the new tax regime, which is the default regime for salaried employees from FY 2024-25 onwards. The calculation applies the standard deduction of ₹75,000 and the Section 87A rebate that makes income up to ₹12,00,000 effectively tax-free. If your taxable income after standard deduction is above ₹12,00,000, the new regime slabs (5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%) are applied progressively.
Who is this for? Anyone who has received a job offer and wants to know their actual monthly take-home — or any salaried employee trying to understand their payslip. The calculator is entirely browser-based, requires no signup, and processes all data locally.
